The Champion Wheelybird 2.0 Review

Remote Control and Foot Pedal:

The most significant improvement WheelyBird brings in the 2.0 version is the wireless remote. It’s an incredible addition to champion WheelyBird because before, you had to control it by the foot pedal. Now you can control it from anywhere on the field with the remote control. In real life uses the remote usually work for me from about 80-85 yards away when I put the remote in my pocket. But champion says it can work up to 120 yards. Along with the remote, you will get the foot pedal that they usually offer from the beginning.

Cycle Time: More Faster Than Ever

cycle time

The champion WheelyBird 2.0 has a faster cycle time than the champion’s original champion wheely bird. The WheelyBird 2.0 can throw in just under two seconds which is great because it allows you to take more shots per round. Now in the 2.0 version, the cycle time 1.75 seconds, while in the older version, it was 2 seconds.

Wheel/Tire: More Sturdy and Balanced

The champion wheely bird has a very sturdy wheel. It doesn’t wobble, and the rubber tires are wide enough that they won’t get stuck on any irregular surfaces as my old champion did.

WheelyBird champion also refined the wheel from its previous version. One of my favorite things about champion WheelyBird is that they made the wheels even larger than the previous one. In addition, the wheel is now supported by 6202 Conrad-type double seal radial ball bearings rather than just a bolt. The champion WheelyBird still has a solid rubber tire for easy transport, making it easy to use in any terrain.

Easy Peasy Launch Angle Adjustment:

The champion WheelyBird is one of the few automatic trap throwers on the market with a launch angle adjustment. You can adjust it 30 degrees to optimize for the different clays you are shooting at.

Some people find the champion WheelyBird’s angle adjustment hard to deal with, but others have no problem.

The newer version of the machine has a handwheel on it, which you can use to make the throwing distance longer or shorter. While in the previous version, adjustments made by using the wrench.

Throwing Range Distance Matters

The champion WheelyBird can throw at a distance of 60-65 yards in optimal weather conditions (No Wind and with medium adjust settings). Champion says it is able to reach up to 70 yards, but that seems like an exaggeration for me because I have never reached the maximum throwing range. But the 60 -65 range is more than club standards.

Magazine Capacity:

The champion WheelyBird can hold up to 50 clay clays simultaneously, which is the same as the champion’s previous clay thrower. Holding 50 clays is more than enough to keep you busy for a while.

Upgraded Carrier System:

The champion WheelyBird has a more robust carrier system than before. It’s now even stronger. Also, now they are using steel instead of plastic at the top of the carrier.

Clay Size:

In WheelyBird 2.0, I have used both the international and standard size clays. I found that they both shot very well, but being able to change them out is excellent because it makes the game more interesting when you’re shooting different sizes of clay.

Battery:

To power up the 2.0, you need to hook it up to a battery. However, the battery is not included in the package. The champion WheelyBird 2.0 electronic trap thrower can work for 3000+ throws on a fully charged 12-volt battery.

weight:

If you are young and stronger, you can easily put this in and out of the truck. It does weigh 48 lbs, and I find that it is not too heavy for me to carry. But if you are a senior citizen or someone with mobility issues, you might want to think twice.

Price:

The champion WheelyBird is affordable and provides a unique and fun experience.

The price becomes even more reasonable when you consider the competitive use of technology in this trap thrower. As a result, the price-value ratio is quite favorable when comparing champion WheelyBird to other trap throwers that don’t have the features and benefits champion WheelyBird does.
